The branch currently supports three local projects that promote the mission of equity for women and girls.  The branch leads the High School Scholar Recognition Project, the Kirkland-Redmond Scholarship Project, and it also supports the Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) Project in conjunction with other branches.

The High School Scholar Recognition, or STEM project identifies outstanding girls who are interested in science, technology, engineering or math.  The branch has encouraged many girls since 1977 to enter these fields of study by honoring them at a reception and providing them with a small gift.

The local High School Scholarship Project award money to deserving girls who complete the scholarship application and meet other eligibility requirements.  A scholarship committee in the branch chooses the girls who receive the scholarship awards.

In addition to the on-going projects listed above, the branch often sponsors public events on a timely topic such as healthcare, getting acquainted with Muslim neighbors, or the women’s salary gap.
