Typical Branch Events

The Kirkland-Redmond Branch of AAUW offers a variety of programs and events during the year.  Any member or group of members can suggest and organize a program providing that it is consistent with the mission of AAUW and is approved by the Board of Directors.  A typical year includes the following:

Fall Kick-Off Event:  Each fall a brunch or tea is held to present the program for the year and to provide orientation for new members.

Holiday Party:  In December a potluck appetizer and dessert holiday party is held locally.  There is a dual purpose to this party.  First is to celebrate the season with AAUW friends and secondly to raise the money needed to carry out the projects and programs of the branch.

End of the Year Event:  The final meeting of the year is a brunch or dinner in May to celebrate the accomplishments of the year and to install the next year’s officers.  It often includes a presentation by a speaker of interest and is typically held in a nice facility which provides the brunch.

Speakers and Programs:  During the year a variety of speakers and Programs that promote the mission of AAUW are held.  Sometimes our branch joins with other area branches to sponsor joint meetings.
